It can give your child daily reps. Timo Helps teaches one everyday phrase at a time: the child taps a picture tile, hears the phrase spoken out loud, then says it back to Timo in a short practice conversation. Ten minutes a day is enough. It supports practice, it does not diagnose anything.

Tap to Speak works like a simple picture board: your child taps an illustrated tile and the app speaks a full, natural phrase out loud in your language. Nonverbal and minimally speaking children use it to be understood today, while the practice modes build toward saying the same phrases themselves.

Does my child need to read or type to use it?

Accepted Answer

No. Everything runs on pictures, taps and voice. Tiles carry an illustration with the words beside them, Timo reads phrases aloud, and answers can be spoken instead of typed. Children who cannot read yet use the whole app on their own, which is why we set the age floor at three.

How much does Timo Helps cost, and is there a free trial?

It is 11.49 EUR per month, 13.49 USD or 9.99 GBP, and the first month is charged the day you sign up. There is no free trial. One subscription covers every mode and every language, on as many of your own devices as you like, and you can cancel anytime in a tap.

No, and it is not meant to. A speech therapist assesses your child and sets goals; Timo Helps is the practice that happens on the days between sessions, at home, without you having to run the exercise yourself. Parents and therapists use it as a supplement, never as a substitute.

What languages does Timo Helps work in?

Seven: English, Lithuanian, Russian, German, Norwegian, Spanish and French. Lithuanian and English are the most polished, because the app was built in Lithuania. Timo speaks phrases aloud in the language you choose, so a child hears natural pronunciation rather than a flat robotic reading of the words.

Any modern phone, tablet, laptop or desktop with a browser. There is no app store download: open timohelps.com and add it to your home screen, and it behaves like a normal app. Most families use a tablet, because bigger picture tiles are easier for small hands to tap.
